Day Zero - pre-departure

Russ' gear loadout: the bag on the left has two Fotoman 4x5 cameras, the bag in the middle has two Mamiya 7II cameras (shown outside the bag) and the bag on the right has a Mamiya RZ67 ProII and a lightmeter.

The two Fotoman 4x5 cameras with 47 and 65mm lenses. The one on the bottom is the older 45PS model with the big aerial grips and the one above is the newer 45SPS with the smaller grips. In all, I'd say the older 45PS is better built and more rugged, but both are fine cameras and nearly indestructible. These cameras can be handlheld, but on this trip, they will mostly be photographing Apollo's Commute.

The two Mamiya 7II cameras. Russ' principal travelling camera - rangefinder 6x7, very dependable. 65 and 80mm lenses.

The RZ 67 Pro II with 50mm lens and Minolta IVF lightmeter with reflection metering attachment. Russ' main SLR - it's really a studio camera, but can be handheld.

Two black Manfrotto carbon tripods and a stupid heavy metal tripod for ultra-long exposures.

Our two travelling pooters - the little hp 15" and the bigger Dell 17".
